WELCOME!
Pilates (Pil-lah’-tees) is a method of physical and mental conditioning. Developed by Joseph H. Pilates, he originally called this method “Body Contrology”- the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit. The Pilates method develops the body’s natural ability to allow muscles to work together as one unit responding simultaneously to the demands for strength and flexibility. Combining yoga, martial arts, and gymnastics, diving and boxing into a unique system, this system also puts emphasis on concentration, control, centering, breathing, fluid movement and precision.Nancy Camilli-Hevener Pilates method of training works for most everyone, any age, from athletes to beginner exercisers. Its gentle, controlled movements provide long term results. Pilates exercises are recommended for seniors and are beneficial in strengthening one’s body after injury.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM PILATES?
Those who want to improve overall body condition, (tone) can lose inches in waistline, hips, thighs and flatten stomach, feel and look taller and stronger. Those with chronic neck, low back, knee and shoulder pain, will benefit from muscle strengthening and increase joint mobility.

Those with ostiopena/osteoporosis, can improve their circulation, flexibility, increase muscle and build bone. Athletes and weight trainers, can improve their overall performance by strengthening the “core muscles” (abdominals, back and pelvis) and increasing flexibility. There are 500 specific low-impact, controlled movements that can be done on the floor using small equipment (mat work) or using large equipment, i.e. Reformer, Tower, combo/wunda chair, spine corrector and barrels.
