THIS IS OUR STORY


Nancy has taught group exercise and personal training as a Fitness Instructor since 1987. Nancy received training and certification in the 80-year-old method of Pilates Mat fundamentals from the Powerhouse Institute. She was so impressed with the results she saw with her clients and herself, she continued her training with various well-known Pilates teachers such as Elizabeth Larkam, Ellie Herman, Leslie Bender, and Cathy Corey, specializing in Reformer, Tower System, Chair, and Spring Board. Nancy is passionate about her work with older adults and people with developmental disabilities.

Nancy's knowledge of bio-mechanics and Kinesiology allows her to design safe and effective programs to meet a wide range of fitness needs. With Pilates training, she has helped post-rehabilitation clients regain their strength without risk of injury, de-conditioned participants gain functional strength, and athletes maintain a challenging training schedule.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM TRAINING AT FROM THE CORE STUDIO?


Those who want to improve overall body condition, (tone) can lose inches in waistline, hips, thighs and flatten stomach, feel and look taller and stronger. Those with chronic neck, low back, knee and shoulder pain, will benefit from muscle strengthening and increase joint mobility.

Those with ostiopena/osteoporosis, can improve their circulation, flexibility, increase muscle and build bone. Athletes and weight trainers, can improve their overall performance by strengthening the “core muscles” (abdominals, back and pelvis) and increasing flexibility. There are 500 specific low-impact, controlled movements that can be done on the floor using small equipment (mat work) or using large equipment, i.e. Reformer, Tower, combo/wunda chair, spine corrector and barrels. Non Pilates equipment to help with strengthening, TRX suspension system, light weight training using the cable pulleys, free weights, etc.
